2024 Trip Information

Welcome to another year of the Laughlin Boyz Trip gentlemen.  I would like to kick this years planning off with a little message that a friend once said that really resonated with me and I think sets the tone for a trip like this.

Agenda

• Single elimination random draw Beer Pong Tournament of Champions (random draw partners, single elimination, $10 a person winner takes all no Ryan stop trying to do double elimination its dumb, complicated with uneven teams and you can just do 2x single elimination tournaments faster with less trouble). During the random draw if we have an uneven number of players a player who gets a no team on the random draw gets to play solo. If we have an odd number of teams a random team will get a bye. We do assignment and bracket matching with an app that randomizes it.

• Regular BP House Rules

  • Any rule can be changed if both teams/players agree I am not your mom

  • 10 Cup rack

  • 2 Reracks per game, cannot rerack in the middle of a turn including balls back event

  • Elbows should not cross the end of the table when shooting

  • You can step left or right of the table but must be behind the end of your side when shooting ie you can move to the left corner, right corner or center but not way off to the side

  • Balls back only when both balls were made (balls back event) (see rebuttal rules for exception)

  • 2 Balls made in the same cup is 3 cups removed. The made cup plus two cups of the team who just got splashed ons choice (balls back event)

  • No bouncing, when the ball hits the table it is dead

  • No man on an Island, surfing or other exotic rules just shoot your ball and make it like an adult

  • Any cups knocked over are gone whether accidentally or by the ball

  • No blowing, fingering or any other physical defense save that for your girl or guy I don't judge

  • If the ball hits a defending players hand while in the path between the ball and cup its an automatic cup gone of the defending teams choice and ball back to the shooter

  • Balls are never pulled, if you want that double cup earn it

    • Rebuttal Rules:
      A team who has had their last cup made may rebuttal with 2 shots. If the rebuttal shot is made it only cancels the original final cup shot and the game continues as if the last cup was not made ie if both rebutting players make rebuttal shots it would just be one cup off the table against the rebutted team and no balls back.

    • Double cups against 3 or less cups cannot be rebutted

    • Everything else can, 2 cups left, opponents make both individually you can rebut but each make is just canceling one of their makes so if both rebuts were made no cups leave other team gets the balls. Same situation and you double cup a rebuttal its still just two cancellations as the first one was just a cancellation not a make.

• Beer pong skills challenge.  $10 per entrant consisting of 3 events. (NEW EVENT PROPOSED)

  • Event 1:  Chug a beverage of your choice unopened then make 3 balls on a standard 10 cup rack.

    • Fastest = 6 points

    • Second = 4 points

    • Third = 2 points

    • Shooter starts with 10 balls in a cup next to them

    • Beverage must be something you can open and at least 12 oz

    • Beverage must be unopened 

    • Timer starts when the drink is cracked and ends when the 3rd ball goes in

    • No balls pulled don't want any complaining about the helpers hand in the way

    • Balls bouncing out off of other made balls is not a make

    • Only one ball can be shot at a time no chucking 10 balls as a handful hoping 3 go in

    • If all 10 balls are shot and the shooter did not make 3 they get no score for the event

    • If the judge determines the beverage was not finished they need to verify with two other people that the beverage is not empty. You can not go around asking everyone just the first two people. If any of the three people say it is empty then shooter is good. If everyone agrees it is not empty the shooter gets a no score for the event.

  • Event 2:  Shoot 10 balls at a standard 10 cup rack from normal distance.

    • Each make is 1 point

    • Each ball is always pulled

    • No elbows.. Robert

    • There is no time limit but be reasonable we have stuff to do

    • If you make all 10 its over you win the tournament  (after everyone has shot in case someone else does it then it goes to tie rules)

  •  Event 3:  Shoot 5 balls at a single cup placed where the center of a normal 10 cup rack would be. 

    • Each make is 3 points

    • Balls are always pulled

    • No elbows.. Robert

    • There is no time limit but be reasonable we have stuff to do

    • If you make all 5 its over you win the tournament (after everyone has shot in case someone else does it then it goes to tie rules)

  • Additional Rules & Payouts:

  • All participants must be monitored by another person when doing their event

  • All events are to be played with the racks as stated at the start of the event so knocked over cups should be picked up, balls pulled if stated, cups that move moved back, water at roughly half cup

  • Winner takes all and is determined by point total if no one pulled off a miracle and made all of their single or rack shots in events 2 and 3.

    • In the event of a 2 way tie the winners can play single cup with rebuttal, standard rules just starting with one cup where the first shooter is determined by either coin flip or paper rock scissors or they can just split.

    • If there is a 3 way or more tie it is split amongst the winners evenly ie  (total/3) etc

• Roll your own BP games
